In August of
1996, by the personal invitation of Christopher Pei, the Chinese Wushu
Association sent four of their top Taiji Masters to the U.S. for a special
seminar and performance.
Posing for
the picture are, from left to right:
Yang Zheng Ji, in Yang Style's "Lift hand and step forward"
posture, 4th generation successor of Yang Family Style Taijiquan, 2nd
son of Yang Cheng Fu. At the age of 77, he performed the first section
of Yang Style Taijiquan.
Li Zi Li, professor
of the Beijing Sports University, a leading university in training and
producing the future generation of Wushu coaches. He performed Sun Style
and Wu (Yu Xiang) Style Taijiquan. Most of our taiji principles came from
the first two generation of the Wu stylists.
Christopher Pei, in Yang Style's "Right Separation" posture,
president of the United States Wushu Academy, performed Traditional Yang
Style Sword, after he received the blessing of and corrections from Yang
Zheng Ji.
Chen Zheng Lei, 19th generation
Chen Style Family Taijiquan successor, performed Chen Style Broadsword,
Sword and a combined routine of the First and Second form.
And finally, Huai Hai Mu, 4th
generation successor of the Wu (Jiang Quan) Style Taijiquan, performed
Wu Style Taijiquan.
