Taiji Immersion
Grand Master Chen Zheng Lei

19th Generation descendant
and Successor of the Chen Family Taiji
August 2, 1997 - August 10, 1997

To All Taiji Participants:

Welcome to the 1997 United States Wushu Academy Taiji Immersion in Fairfax, Virginia. This year’s curriculum contains Traditional Chen Style Taijiquan and Sword. We are very fortunate to have Grand Master Chen Zheng Lei, 19th generation descendant and successor of the Chen family from Henan, China, to impart the knowledge passed down to him by his ancestors.

Recently, Grand Master Chen Zheng Lei was titled and acclaimed as one of the "Top Ten Grand Masters" by the Chinese Wushu Association, the governing body of the Chinese martial arts community. Grand Master Chen Zheng Lei’s instruction is clear, precise and demanding. His effectiveness in raising and inducing students' understanding of chi energy is his greatest strength.

We have designed this educational program which combines instruction, application analysis and practice. We believe that this program will provide a firm basis for your advancement to a higher level of learning Traditional Chen Style Taiji.

It is our hope that the time we spend together at George Mason University will foster community among the Taiji participants. We look forward to sharing this wonderful learning experience with each of you.

Sincerely,

Christopher Pei and Zhang Guifeng
